More prestigious prizes for Falmec

2022 ends with two prestigious wins for Falmec. The new extraction solutions, Shelf and Brera, have won the Special Mention at the 2023 German Design Award and the ADA 2022 respectively.

Shelf, from the company’s new Elements collection, is an innovative self-suction solution designed specifically to be incorporated into kitchen projects. Thanks to its exclusive features, Shelf enabled Falmec – Winner of the same award in 2022 with its Light hood – to obtain the Special Mention at the 2023 edition of the German Design Award (GDA) in the Excellent Product Design Kitchen category.

Thanks to exclusive Multi-Air technology, Shelf incorporates a very thin structure of only 10 cm in thickness, equipped with a removable vane to increase smoke suction capacity. The innovative technology retains impressive performance but with an extremely reduced volume.

This element with hood function can be enriched with additional modules to create a versatile wall hanging furniture system: the 120 cm suction module can be attached to the right or left of other shelves with a width of either 60 or 90 cm.

By responding to multiple stylistic contexts, usage needs, and installation types, this new concept transforms its fundamental environmentally friendly function into a modular and multifunctional structure that is fully integrated into the kitchen.

Its underside can be equipped with an integrated LED strip with a dynamic light that illuminates the worktop along the entire length of the Shelf. Optional accessories, such as ladles, spices, phones, tablets and other tools to organise your kitchen, can also be housed here.

The new Brera hob/hood has also been recognised for its innovative technology and minimalist design. The Archiproducts‘ jury identified the extraordinary features of this fully integrated extraction solution, by granting it the ADA Award in the Kitchen category.

 Brera perspective view

Brera ticks every box. Its 4 cooking areas and the flap into the back suction area – that allows the air to be extracted – merge into one unique, flat worktop, that integrates into the kitchen surface. Excellent suction, silence and extraction technology are the main benefits of Brera, in addition to its expression of minimal, functional design inspired by the Milan district, world-renowned for being the top Italian design hub.

Its configuration creates a large, versatile and uniform cooking surface. The cooking and the suction area are joined by monochromatic glass, differentiated only by a narrow groove between the two spaces. When in operation, the back flap opens automatically to absorb the cooking emissions.

For both aesthetic and ergonomic reasons, it’s a winning result: a powerful brushless motor, placed into the back of the worktop, allows the best extraction performance – even in a limited space. The seamless cooking space with innovative technology guarantees that cooking and cleaning this new combination appliance will both be much easier.
